The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program was invented to support the new challenges faced by corporations and their effect on the human society. One of these challenges is the Money Monster leadership which does not recognize the individual, social and global human society’s needs of now and in the possible sustainable future. The authors believe that CSR and individual social responsibility are forgotten values of humanity neglected by The Money Master.

The objective of ASRIA’s Global Platform

ASRIA’s Global Platform objective is to encourage government agencies, corporations, institutions and individuals to play their role actively in promoting social responsibility practice under a singular synergy platform to demonstrate what they have done for their community and others can learn from its good value of practice. With the synergise efforts mankind can only make the world a better place to live in for the present and future generations, and which will minimize the negative impact of human beings if everyone on Earth were to put social responsibility practice as one of the key principles in whatever things they undertake. The quest for growth and development can no longer operate in isolation. Increasingly, companies will find themselves caught between the need to satisfy its profit motives and the society’s demand for social responsibility. Companies will find themselves addressing the need to become more social responsible simply because apparent irresponsibility carries high cost which often causes irreversible damage.

One of the ASRIA’s Platform aims is to provide guidance on how to produce a corporate sustainability report and other aspects to put CSR practice that meets multiple stakeholder expectations. It has covered all aspects of corporate social responsibility including; business ethics, corporate governance and accountability, globalization, civil protests, regulation, responsible marketing and social reporting. It is interdisciplinary in scope and global in application and is an essential forum for everyone with an interest in the CSR area.

The Criteria for the ASRIA are based on merit and involving such aspects as uniqueness in approach on social responsibility practice, fairness, social responsible innovation of strategic and practical administrative systems put into place, and project sustainability, which have been proven and certified by a reputable third party. Of course, the activities will bring positive value and effect future generations. The ASRIA’s Award stands for exceptional deeds and dedication to vision, mission, goals and objectives.



1. To be eligible, the nominee must be 18 years and above. Any citizenship is acceptable.
2. This nomination form must be completed in English.
3. The nominee is required to sign this form under Truth of Information Release.
4. Please complete in Block capitals using typescript or black ink suitable for photocopying and ensure that you complete all sections before signing and dating the form on the back page.
5. Official original Application form is required for processing although you may fax or e-mail your completed form.
6. All questions must be answered accurately and in full. Incorrect or misleading statements can result in the denial of your application, or if you are admitted, your dismissal from ASRIA and its Foundation.
7. Everyone in all fields of endeavour may be nominated for the SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY honors. Any Individual, Association, Institution or Organization can nominate any number of nominees.

The logo is depicting the outline of four human beings signifying the family unit as a metaphor for the larger society. Has not mankind, by virtue of his superior intelligence and God-given soul and conscience, been given responsible stewardship over this world and must responsibly govern this world in order to always preserve it for an innumerable succession of generations and generations to come. It represents the greatest, the most ideal contribution to mankind and the world that ASRIA could achieve through the fields of education, training, the quest for knowledge and expertise, research and human development and the search for lasting peace through social responsibility.

Brief introduction about the establishment of ASRIA


The idea and proposal of “ASRIA” was brought by Prof. Dr. Haw Boon Hong to the Governing Board of Trustees on 10th October 2003. The proposal was approved and endorsed by the AU Foundation Board of Trustees on 10th March 2004. An announcement was made on 29th May 2004 in Malaysia to invite nominations. However, Prof. Dr. Dana M. Barry and Prof. Dr. Haw Boon Hong have been appointed to serve as key personnel for overseeing and developing the ASRIA project. A panel of judges has been set up to evaluate nomination application documents. The award presentation of ASRIA ceremony event is usually held in conjunction with the annual International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility or other Conferences. The Award is a recognized personalized mark of distinction that speaks volumes to everyone you talk to.

Indeed it has been clearly demonstrated that a research active scholarly community is also a vibrant teaching and learning community. The third objective therefore is to enhance the quality of the learning experience for college and university students and universities future corporate partners as well as industries.

It can be seen from these examples that an organization can have a very significant effect upon its external environment and can actually change that environment through its activities. It can also be seen that these different effects can in some circumstances be viewed as beneficial and in other circumstances be viewed as detrimental to the environment. According to the Founder of ASRIA, Prof. Haw Boon Hong said “We have the scientific knowledge to solve our major world challenges. We have the technological know-how to solve our problems. My principal mission is to promote PEACE through cultivating Social Responsibility practice by creating a platform through Global community synergize effort. How to rectify some of the wrongful practices?

ASRIA’s Global Platform believes that moral principles, virtues and discipline should be the very first lessons to be taught to a child, and that children need to practice them daily. It was most important to the parents that their children learned moral principles and virtues first before any other subjects, because without these as a foundation, the learning of all other subjects would be futile. We can buy many things in this world with money, but good manners, like friendship and love, cannot be obtained with money. It can only be acquired through an early foundation with the aid of understanding parents and teachers. That is why in school, teachers not only prepare us for work in the future, but also teach us good manners. In olden days, the purpose of going to school and studying was to become saints and sages, not to make financial gains. They felt that without strict discipline and moral standards, a child would amount to nothing. Without knowing what it meant to be dutiful to one’s parents and respectful to one’s teachers, a child would grow up not listening to or respecting anyone. Currently, we live in a tumultuous world where the relationship between people, people and their environment, parent and children, husbands and wives, and employers and employees are disintegrating. Soon the planet Earth will no longer be fit for us to live on. The initiative of ASRIA’s Global Platform can serve as one of the tools to rectify some of the wrongful practices. In this way, future generations will benefit from it and society and our world will be more at peace.

How to develop and correct ourselves?

Just leaving things up to nature won’t be of much help for us. You can compare it to natural resources and raw materials. If we don’t process and shape them into a form, nature won’t do much good for us. That the places we live in provide shelter from sun and rain, heat and cold, is only possible because of the construction and development that took place; as such ASRIA’s Global Platform is calling everyone to assist in making this world a better place to live in.

Our experiences tell us that:

There is no perfect system and singular systems that can be applied to improve this world harmony & peace simply because we have too many countries, cultures, policies, regulations, practices, races, religions, different needs and expectations. Each one is practicing his own believed systems. Just think of the fact that in the past we never really paid attention to the world of our mind. All we did was see things according to our desires. What we called good was merely what gratified our wants and wishes. When we start seeing the world from a perspective that takes our true feelings into account, we might be shocked and finally realize that we need to improve in some ways. If we come to the point where we can stop negative mind states, we have truly accomplished something very beneficial. We see that these experiences are a way of understanding the processes that our inner life goes through. This truly is knowledge.

Human beings are beings that live in society, and there has to be communication, so inevitably we need to relate to all kinds of different impingements coming from society. We need to face the whole variety. It is advised to lead our lives consciously aware, with mindfulness and clear comprehension, in the very moment that we get into contact with the world. There is the eye that sees forms and shapes, there is the ear that hears sounds, the nose that smells odours, the tongue that tastes, the body that feels contact, and finally there are images arising in the mind caused by these objects.

All these experiences need filtering. They need to be faced with caution-that means, in a way that enables one to understand all the various impingements that occur. If one sees things clearly, all these objects will lose their value by themselves. This process is just like when we are together with children. Children find a lot of fun in playing around. But if we see the toys of a child, we probably all agree that they are meaningless-a puppet for example.
If we look back on our experiences, after some time, we start to see them as a mere heap of trash, as something that isn’t of any real use.

Also it is advised to practice together in groups and be interested in the welfare of their community to give each other the invitation for admonishment. It means to grant each other the opportunity for admonishment and constructive critical comments. Criticism here is not done with a mind state that is fixed on one’s view, opinions or conceit. It is simply meant to point out issues that arise, or warn each other about potential problems because all of us are not perfect as we walk this path. Sometimes we only look ahead and don’t see what’s behind us. Maybe we have some weak points. Here we rely on others to shine a light. Or they can show us a mirror to see ourselves more clearly and help us focus our attention on areas where we need to grow. This is why we grant each other opportunity for criticism. In this way development can take place. If we grant others the opportunity to address us, it helps us to re-establish our awareness of what we are doing.
